TIEG BLOG

September 8, 2007

Today was the Woofstock-a celebration of dogs and people. We had around 35 people and 20 dogs of all shapes, colors, and sizes. The dogs all got along great. They played with one another, did dog agility tricks, and there was a doggie costume contest.

Winners from the following categories:

- Most Humorous and Happy Flower Child – Murphy

- Most Unique and Stylin’ Threads – Boonie

- Most Macho Boy Toy/Stone Fox – Lily

- Most Darling Diva/Glamour Girl – Phancie

- Most Awesome and Amazing Group Theme – Lily & Nero

- Most Gangster/Far Out and Frightful – Reese

We then watched FIREHOUSE DOG under the stars outside. Some enchanted evening.

Welcome to my blog!

This is Vinca Vi and the purpose of this blog is to keep you the reader up on the going-on’s with The Inland Empire Gardeners (TIEG). I intend to write about TIEG events and other horticulture pursuits.

Coming up this weekend is our Decadent Dahlia tour in Dalton Gardens, ID. I didn’t think we’d get that many of our Spokane folks wanting to drive to

Northern Idaho, especially w/ gas going for around $2.89 a gallon but we’ve landed up w/ 38 total. Pretty Good.

Just ordered lunch for everyone-Qdobo Naked Burrito Bar-steak, chicken, rice, beans, and toppings. They’re going to delivered everything right before the tour at noon.

This garden is suppose to be truly spectacular w/ over 800 blooming dahlias. Will describe in detail after the tour. The days of summer are starting to quickly wind down and we need to stop and enjoy and smell the flowers why we can!
